Free tutoring is offered on campus and online to registered Cerro Coso students. Students can request a tutor using the Student Tutor Request Form or visit their campus LAC/LRC.

The hours for the Ridgecrest campus are 8:00am - 9:00pm Monday through Thursday and 8:00am - 12:00pm on Friday. Students from other Cerro Coso campuses who interested in receiving tutoring on our other campuses may drop by the Learning Resource Center on their campus to request a tutor.

Our free tutoring is available from trained peer tutors in almost all subjects both on campus or online. Tutoring is provided individually or in small groups based on student need and availability. Online students may request online tutoring by submitting the Student Tutor Request Form and selecting “yes” to the question regarding online tutoring. Students needing further assistance are invited to visit the center or reach out to Sherri Windish or Tyson Huffman.

Students receiving tutoring are expected to come with books, syllabus, and class assignments, and they should be able to articulate specific coursework questions to their tutor.

Online Tutoring

Would you like to meet with one of our tutors but are not within a reasonable distance to campus? Online tutoring may be an option to get the assistance you need. Complete the Student Tutor Request Form and answer yes to the question, "would you prefer online tutoring?" Online tutoring is done through Zoom and does not require a download to your computer, tablet, or phone. Once you have scheduled an appointment, just click the link sent via email to connect to your tutor.
