“I feel very comfortable in this environment,” said Wendy Coward, the new Department Assistant II in ACCESS Programs.
Coward comes to Cerro Coso with 22 years of experience as an office assistant at Immanuel Christian School. As a former student she is familiar with the college and enjoys helping students further their educations. “I love working in education and I’m enjoying all the new people I’m working with,” she said.
Coward moved to Ridgecrest in 1971 and graduated from Burroughs High School. She has two grown children, Michael Dawson Jr., and Stephanie Baken who both live locally and her favorite activity is spending as much time as she can with her two grandchildren: Billy (3), and Harley (1.5). “I love being a grandmother. It’s the best feeling in the world,” she declared.
Coward and her husband Bill took a trip to Cozumel last year and she went scuba diving for the first time. “This was a real stretch for me, but it was an incredible experience and I would like to do more dives,” she exclaimed.
A welcomed addition to the college, when she isn’t exploring tropical waters with amazing views Coward likes to hike, read, and is a self-professed Disneyland fanatic. Welcome to the Cerro Coso TEAM Wendy!
