Math Adding Up for Kessler

Texas native Jaclyn Kessler loves helping students succeed through the power of math. Giving students the tools to be successful not only in classes, but in their future and professional careers is what she enjoys most about teaching.

“It’s difficult to find any area of life that isn’t touched by mathematics,” states Kessler. Mathematics assists in the ability to think logically and solve problems. It also teaches one to be precise in thoughts and words and teaches life skills.

That’s why Kessler chose the subject over biology in college. “Not all students like math, but a good math teacher can change that,” she continued. “I love teaching those students who have had a bad math experience that math is important, and to help them build confidence in their skills.”

Kessler taught for Texas A&M for three years before relocating to California in January. Her husband Ryan is an Aerospace Engineer at Lockheed-Martin. Together they are enjoying exploring the outdoors without all the humidity. She holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Mathematics from Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas.

Howdy, and welcome to Cerro Coso, Jaclyn.
