Carroll All About Kids

New CDC Associate Teacher Ingrid Carroll has always worked with children. Teaching the young to snowboard, ski, swim, and, most importantly, master learning skills is what makes this mother of 5 happy.

Her family spent 12 years in Big Bear, where the weather of four seasons brought a variety of outdoor activities, before moving to Ridgecrest.

Carroll started out on a secretarial path right out of high school, earning a Secretarial AA Degree at Pasadena City College, and served as a secretary at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory. She holds a BS Degree in Anthropology from UC Riverside and volunteers as a docent for the Maturango Museum where she guides and educates visitors through exhibits and local history.

Focusing most on raising her family, when her husband Tim an Engineer on base took a job in Ridgecrest, Carroll took the opportunity to attend Cerro Coso and earn a Child Development Associate Teacher Certificate so she could work with children in yet another learning environment. She is currently working in the 3 and 4 year olds classroom part-time and says “throughout my life I have dedicated a lot of time taking care and teaching children and I enjoy every minute of it.”

Carroll and Tim have five children: Evan (35), Kimberly (33), Andrew (31), Paul (27), and Kirsten (20) who graduated from Cerro Coso in May with honors. They have a grandson, Jimmy (6), and are anticipating the birth of their first granddaughter. They enjoy visiting family every opportunity they get in beautiful San Diego, known for its beaches, warm climate, galleries, museums, and zoo. Her motto for life is “Follow the Golden Rule,” yet “Do your best.”

WELCOME Ingrid…it takes big heart to help shape little minds.
