The Cerro Coso Community College Band will present their spring concert on Thursday evening April 28 at 7:00 PM in the Parker Performing Arts Center at Burroughs High School. Admission is free; donations will be accepted to assist the Burroughs High School band in their upcoming trip to Washington D. C. for the Fourth of July Parade this summer.
This will be an evening of wonderful entertainment for the entire family and at the right price! The concert is entitled “ Across the Ponds” and will feature music from English, Australian and Canadian composers. Selections will include “Lincolnshire Posy” by Percy Grainger, “First Suite in Eb” by Gustav Holst, “Concert Medley from The Lord of the Rings” by Howard Shore, and “Queen in Concert” arranged by Jay Bocook.
The band is composed of gifted junior and high school students, college students and adults (some professional) and is directed by Debra Veit. The class meets Thursday evenings at the BHS Band Room from 6 to 9PM and is a wonderful example of a multi-generational group that fosters excellent performance in all.
