The Cerro Coso Community College Choir, directed by Amber Petersen, will perform their fall concert on Friday, November 18, 2016, at 7:30pm in the Parker Performing Arts Center at Burroughs High School.
Enjoy an evening of peaceful Spirituals including O Sifuni Mungu (Swahili) arranged by Roger Emerson featuring Kevin Anderson, Brianne Hardwick, Sharon Anderson, and Britney Brown as soloists. Other spirituals include: Ride the Chariot arr. by William Henry Smith; And All God’s People Said “Amen” by Robert M. Olson; Elijah Rock by Moses Hogan; Soon and Very Soon arr. by Jack Schrader; and When the Saints Go Marching in arr. by John Rutter with Kimberly Washburn as solo Clarinet. The program will be rounded out with opera choruses from The Tender Land by Aaron Copland, Pirates of Penzance by Gilbert & Sullivan, and The Magic Flute by W. A. Mozart.
The evening will be full of beautiful and lively music with guest artist adding to the excitement.
