Metamorphoses, in cooperation with the English Department, is hosting the 2017 Met Awards for Creative Writing. The editors are calling for fiction and creative non-fiction between 500 and 1,000 words, and poetry of under 50 lines. Participants must be current students of Cerro Coso or one of the many high schools in the college's service area (Mammoth Lakes, Bishop, Ridgecrest, California City, Edwards Air Force Base, Techachapi, and the Kern River Valley). Participants can submit up to three pieces in each category.

First and second place writers will receive a $50 or $25 gift card, publication in Metamorphoses Online, and an invitation to read their work at the awards ceremony in Ridgecrest. Honorable Mentions may also be considered for reading and publication.
