The purpose of the Mammoth Lakes Foundation Local Scholarship is to encourage local Mono County students and residents to enroll in and attend classes at the Mammoth Lakes Campus of Cerro Coso Community College, to achieve their higher education goals.
The Scholarship will pay for registration, books and materials for enrolled courses. In order to be eligible to receive a scholarship, the student must have graduated from a Mono County High School or reside within Mono County for the last one year. Students must be California residents. Students who previously left the state of California must meet the one year residency requirement in order to be eligible.
The scholarship is typically available for Fall and Spring semesters only, but this Summer 2021 it will also be offered for returning scholarship students. Scholarship applications are linked below.
In order for a student to remain eligible, students must be making satisfactory academic progress of at least a GPA of 2.5 and are completing each semester with full-time (at least 12 or more units Spring/Fall, and up to 8 units in the Summer) progress toward an educational goal up to a maximum of 60 completed units. The scholarship does not cover students taking online classes during Spring and Fall. Any and all classes during the summer that count towards the student’s academic goal will be covered (online included).
